˹It is only˺ a brief enjoyment in this world, then to Us is their return, then We will make them taste the severe punishment for their disbelief.

كما قال هاهنا : ( متاع في الدنيا ) أي : مدة قريبة ، ( ثم إلينا مرجعهم ) أي : يوم القيامة ، ( ثم نذيقهم العذاب الشديد ) أي : الموجع المؤلم ( بما كانوا يكفرون ) أي : بسبب كفرهم وافترائهم وكذبهم على الله ، فيما ادعوه من الإفك والزور .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
