They pleaded, “O Ⱬul-Qarnain! Surely Gog and Magog1 are spreading corruption throughout the land. Should we pay you tribute, provided that you build a wall between us and them?”

( قالوا ياذا القرنين إن يأجوج ومأجوج مفسدون في الأرض فهل نجعل لك خرجا ) قال ابن جريج عن عطاء ، عن ابن عباس : أجرا عظيما ، يعني أنهم أرادوا أن يجمعوا له من بينهم مالا يعطونه إياه ، حتى يجعل بينهم وبينهم سدا .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
