أي: فلما تعلت مريم من نفاسها، أتت بعيسى قومها تحمله، وذلك لعلمها ببراءة نفسها وطهارتها، فأتت غير مبالية ولا مكترثة، فقالوا:{ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْئًا فًريًّا ْ} أي: عظيما وخيما، وأرادوا بذلك البغاء حاشاها من ذلك.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
