And ˹remember˺ when Noah had cried out to Us earlier, so We responded to him and delivered him and his family1 from the great distress.

قوله تعالى : ونوحا إذ نادى من قبل أي واذكر نوحا إذ نادى ؛ أي دعا . من قبل أي من قبل إبراهيم ولوط على قومه ، وهو قوله : رب لا تذر على الأرض من الكافرين ديارا وقال لما كذبوه : أني مغلوب فانتصر . فاستجبنا له فنجيناه وأهله من الكرب العظيم أي من الغرق . والكرب الغم الشديد وأهله أي المؤمنين منهم .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
