He would have almost tricked us away from our gods, had we not been so devoted to them.” ˹But˺ soon they will know, when they face the punishment, who is far astray from the ˹Right˺ Way.

﴿إِن﴾ مُخَفَّفَة مِنْ الثَّقِيلَة وَاسْمهَا مَحْذُوف أَيْ إنَّهُ ﴿كَادَ لَیُضِلُّنَا﴾ يَصْرِفنَا ﴿عَنۡ ءَالِهَتِنَا لَوۡلَاۤ أَن صَبَرۡنَا عَلَیۡهَاۚ﴾ لصرفنا عنها قال تعالى ﴿وَسَوۡفَ یَعۡلَمُونَ حِینَ یَرَوۡنَ ٱلۡعَذَابَ﴾ عِيَانًا فِي الْآخِرَة ﴿مَنۡ أَضَلُّ سَبِیلًا ٤٢﴾ أَخْطَأ طَرِيقًا أَهُمْ أم المؤمنون
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
