˹Some of˺ the Jews claim, “The Fire will not touch us except for a number of days.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Have you taken a pledge from Allah—for Allah never breaks His word—or are you ˹just˺ saying about Allah what you do not know?”

﴿وَقَالُوا۟﴾ لَمَّا وَعَدَهُمْ النَّبِيّ النَّار ﴿لَن تَمَسَّنَا﴾ تُصِيبنَا ﴿ٱلنَّارُ إِلَّاۤ أَیَّامࣰا مَّعۡدُودَةࣰۚ﴾ قَلِيلَة أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا مُدَّة عِبَادَة آبَائِهِمْ الْعِجْل ثُمَّ تَزُول ﴿قُلۡ﴾ لهم يا محمد ﴿أَتَّخَذۡتُمۡ﴾ حذفت منه هَمْزَة الْوَصْل اسْتِغْنَاء بِهَمْزَةِ الِاسْتِفْهَام ﴿عِندَ ٱللَّهِ عَهۡدࣰا﴾ مِيثَاقًا مِنْهُ بِذَلِكَ ﴿فَلَن یُخۡلِفَ ٱللَّهُ عَهۡدَهُۥۤۖ﴾ به أم لَا ﴿أَمۡ﴾ بَلْ ﴿تَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ٨٠﴾
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
