So you ˹O Prophet˺ certainly cannot make the dead hear ˹the truth˺. Nor can you make the deaf hear the call when they turn their backs and walk away.

وهؤلاء لا ينفع فيهم وعظ ولا زجر { فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُسْمِعُ الْمَوْتَى وَلَا تُسْمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَاءَ } وبالأولى { إِذَا وَلَّوْا مُدْبِرِينَ } فإن الموانع قد توفرت فيهم عن الانقياد والسماع النافع كتوفر هذه الموانع المذكورة عن سماع الصوت الحسي.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
