They say ˹mockingly˺, “Our Lord! Hasten for us our share ˹of the punishment˺ before the Day of Reckoning.”

أي: قال هؤلاء المكذبون، من جهلهم ومعاندتهم الحق، مستعجلين للعذاب:{ رَبَّنَا عَجِّلْ لَنَا قِطَّنَا } أي: قسطنا وما قسم لنا من العذاب عاجلا { قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ } ولَجُّوا في هذا القول، وزعموا أنك يا محمد، إن كنت صادقا، فعلامة صدقك أن تأتينا بالعذاب
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
