As for ’Ȃd, they acted arrogantly throughout the land with no right, boasting, “Who is superior to us in might?” Did they not see that Allah ˹Himself˺, Who created them, was far superior to them in might? Still they persisted in denying Our signs.

﴿فَأَمَّا عَادࣱ فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَیۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَقَالُوا۟﴾ لما خوفوا بالعذاب ﴿مَنۡ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةًۖ﴾ أي لا أحد كان واحدهم يقلع الصخرة العظيمة من الجبل يجعلها حيث يشاء ﴿أَوَلَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟﴾ يعلموا ﴿أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَهُمۡ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُمۡ قُوَّةࣰۖ وَكَانُوا۟ بِـَٔایَـٰتِنَا﴾ المعجزات ﴿یَجۡحَدُونَ ١٥﴾
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
