The disbelievers advised ˹one another˺, “Do not listen to this Quran but drown it out so that you may prevail.”

﴿وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟﴾ عند قراءة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ﴿لَا تَسۡمَعُوا۟ لِهَـٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ وَٱلۡغَوۡا۟ فِیهِ﴾ ائتوا باللغط ونحوه وصيحوا في زمن قراءته ﴿لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَغۡلِبُونَ ٢٦﴾ فيسكت عن القراءة
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
