And whenever Our clear revelations are recited to them, their only argument is to say: “Bring our forefathers back, if what you say is true!”

وقوله تعالى : ( وإذا تتلى عليهم آياتنا بينات ) أي : إذا استدل عليهم وبين لهم الحق ، وأن الله قادر على إعادة الأبدان بعد فنائها وتفرقها ، ( ما كان حجتهم إلا أن قالوا ائتوا بآبائنا إن كنتم صادقين ) أي : أحيوهم إن كان ما تقولونه حقا .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
