And before this ˹Quran˺ the Book of Moses was ˹revealed as˺ a guide and mercy. And this Book is a confirmation, in the Arabic tongue, to warn those who do wrong, and as good news to those who do good.

ثم قال : ( ومن قبله كتاب موسى ) وهو التوراة ( إماما ورحمة وهذا كتاب ) يعني القرآن ) مصدق ) أي : لما قبله من الكتب ( لسانا عربيا ) أي : فصيحا بينا واضحا ، ( لينذر الذين ظلموا وبشرى للمحسنين ) أي : مشتمل على النذارة للكافرين والبشارة للمؤمنين .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
