He responded, “The knowledge ˹of its time˺ is only with Allah. I only convey to you what I have been sent with. But I can see that you are a people acting ignorantly.”

( قال إنما العلم عند الله ) أي : الله أعلم بكم إن كنتم مستحقين لتعجيل العذاب فيفعل ذلك بكم ، وأما أنا فمن شأني أني أبلغكم ما أرسلت به ، ( ولكني أراكم قوما تجهلون ) أي : لا تعقلون ولا تفهمون .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
