Say ˹also˺, “If what you seek to hasten were within my power, the matter between us would have already been settled. But Allah knows the wrongdoers best.”

{ قُل } للمستعجلين بالعذاب، جهلا وعنادا وظلما، { لَوْ أَنَّ عِنْدِي مَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِهِ لَقُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ } فأوقعته بكم ولا خير لكم في ذلك، ولكن الأمر، عند الحليم الصبور، الذي يعصيه العاصون، ويتجرأ عليه المتجرئون، وهو يعافيهم، ويرزقهم، ويسدي عليهم نعمه، الظاهرة والباطنة. { وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِالظَّالِمِينَ } لا يخفى عليه من أحوالهم شيء، فيمهلهم ولا يهملهم.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
