But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a stern grip.

فتعصوا رسولكم، فتكونوا كفرعون حين أرسل الله إليه موسى بن عمران، فدعاه إلى الله، وأمره بالتوحيد، فلم يصدقه، بل عصاه، فأخذه الله أخذا وبيلا أي: شديدا بليغا.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
