If a blessing befalls you ˹O Prophet˺, they grieve, but if a disaster befalls you, they say, “We took our precaution in advance,” and turn away, rejoicing.

يعلم تبارك وتعالى نبيه بعداوة هؤلاء له ؛ لأنه مهما أصابه من ( حسنة ) أي : فتح ونصر وظفر على الأعداء ، مما يسره ويسر أصحابه ، ساءهم ذلك ، ( وإن تصبك مصيبة يقولوا قد أخذنا أمرنا من قبل ) أي : قد احترزنا من متابعته من قبل هذا ، ( ويتولوا وهم فرحون )
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
