They chose a fleeting gain over Allah’s revelations, hindering ˹others˺ from His Way. Evil indeed is what they have done!

يقول تعالى ذما للمشركين وحثا للمؤمنين على قتالهم : ( اشتروا بآيات الله ثمنا قليلا ) يعني أنهم اعتاضوا عن اتباع آيات الله بما التهوا به من أمور الدنيا الخسيسة ، ( فصدوا عن سبيله ) أي : منعوا المؤمنين من اتباع الحق ، ( إنهم ساء ما كانوا يعملون)
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
