Cuando se les dice [a los idólatras]: “Prostérnense ante el Compasivo”, exclaman: “¿Quién es el Compasivo? No nos vamos a prosternar ante quien nos ordenas”. Y eso los aleja aún más.

﴿وَإِذَا قِیلَ لَهُمُ﴾ لِكُفَّارِ مَكَّة ﴿ٱسۡجُدُوا۟ لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ قَالُوا۟ وَمَا ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ أَنَسۡجُدُ لِمَا تَأۡمُرُنَا﴾ بِالْفَوْقَانِيَّةِ وَالتَّحْتَانِيَّة وَالْآمِر مُحَمَّد وَلَا نَعْرِفهُ لَا ﴿وَزَادَهُمۡ﴾ هذا القول لهم ﴿نُفُورࣰا﴾ عن الإيمان
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
