يستعجلونك بالعذاب أي يستعجلونك وقد أعد لهم جهنم وأنها ستحيط بهم لا محالة فما معنى الاستعجال . وقيل : نزلت في عبد الله بن أبي أمية وأصحابه من المشركين حين قالوا : أو تسقط السماء كما زعمت علينا كسفا .
