Cuando se encuentran con los creyentes les dicen: “¡Somos creyentes!” Pero cuando están a solas con los malvados de entre ellos[1], les aseguran: “¡Estamos con ustedes, solo nos burlábamos de ellos!” 1

هذا من قولهم بألسنتهم ما ليس في قلوبهم، و[ذلك] أنهم إذا اجتمعوا بالمؤمنين, أظهروا أنهم على طريقتهم وأنهم معهم, فإذا خلوا إلى شياطينهم - أي: رؤسائهم وكبرائهم في الشر - قالوا: إنا معكم في الحقيقة, وإنما نحن مستهزءون بالمؤمنين بإظهارنا لهم, أنا على طريقتهم، فهذه حالهم الباطنة والظاهرة, ولا يحيق المكر السيئ إلا بأهله.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
