أي: وإن يكذبك أيها الرسول، هؤلاء المشركون، فلست أول رسول كذب، { فَقَدْ كَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ } الدالات على الحق، وعلى صدقهم فيما أخبروهم به، { وَبالزُّبُرِ } أي: الكتب المكتوبة، المجموع فيها كثير من الأحكام، { وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُنِيرِ } أي: المضيء في أخباره الصادقة، وأحكامه العادلة، فلم يكن تكذيبهم إياهم ناشئا عن اشتباه، أو قصور بما جاءتهم به الرسل، بل بسبب ظلمهم وعنادهم.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
