[y entonces] digan: “¡Qué pena! Ahora estoy perdido por haber desobedecido las órdenes de Dios, y realmente me contaba entre quienes se burlaban [del castigo]”.

ثم حذرهم { أَن } يستمروا على غفلتهم، حتى يأتيهم يوم يندمون فيه، ولا تنفع الندامة.و { تَقُولَ نَفْسٌ يَا حَسْرَتَى عَلَى مَا فَرَّطْتُ فِي جَنْبِ اللَّهِ } أي: في جانب حقه. { وَإِنْ كُنْت } في الدنيا { لَمِنَ السَّاخِرِينَ } في إتيان الجزاء، حتى رأيته عيانا.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
