Siempre que les mostraba un Signo, era mayor [y más evidente] que el anterior, [pero como siempre los desmentían] los azoté con el castigo [de las plagas] para que se arrepintieran.

{وَمَا نُرِيهِمْ مِنْ آيَةٍ إِلا هِيَ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ أُخْتِهَا} أي: الآية المتأخرة أعظم من السابقة، {وَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ} كالجراد، والقمل، والضفادع، والدم، آيات مفصلات. {لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ} إلى الإسلام، ويذعنون له، ليزول شركهم وشرهم.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
