¡Pero no! Dirán eso porque saldrá a la luz lo que antes ocultaban. Y si se les diera la oportunidad de regresar [a la vida mundanal] volverían a [cometer] lo que se les había prohibido [asociándole divinidades a Dios]. La verdad es que son mentirosos.

( بَلْ بَدَا لَهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يُخْفُونَ مِنْ قَبْلُ } فإنهم كانوا يخفون في أنفسهم، أنهم كانوا كاذبين، ويَبدو في قلوبهم في كثير من الأوقات. ولكن الأغراض الفاسدة، صدتهم عن ذلك، وصرفت قلوبهم عن الخير، وهم كذبة في هذه الأمنية، وإنما قصدهم، أن يدفعوا بها عن أنفسهم العذاب. { وَلَوْ رُدُّوا لَعَادُوا لِمَا نُهُوا عَنْهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ }
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
