Ceux qui lancent des accusations contre des femmes vertueuses, chastes [qui ne pensent même pas à commettre la turpitude] et croyantes sont maudits ici-bas comme dans l’au-delà; et ils auront un énorme châtiment,

ثم ذكر الوعيد الشديد على رمي المحصنات فقال:{ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ } أي: العفائف عن الفجور { الْغَافِلَاتِ } التي لم يخطر ذلك بقلوبهن { الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ لُعِنُوا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ } واللعنة لا تكون إلا على ذنب كبير. وأكد اللعنة بأنها متواصلة عليهم في الدارين { وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ } وهذا زيادة على اللعنة، أبعدهم عن رحمته، وأحل بهم شدة نقمته.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
