Allah leur a fait goûter l’ignominie dans la vie présente. Le châtiment de l’au-delà, cependant, est plus grand, si seulement ils savaient!

{ فَأَذَاقَهُمُ اللَّهُ } بذلك العذاب { الْخِزْيَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا } فافتضحوا عند اللّه وعند خلقه { وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ } فليحذر هؤلاء من المقام على التكذيب، فيصيبهم ما أصاب أولئك من التعذيب.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
