Il S’est ensuite occupé du ciel qui était alors fumée et lui dit, ainsi qu’à la terre : "Venez tous deux, bon gré, mal gré." Tous deux dirent : "Nous venons obéissants."

{ ثُمَّ } بعد أن خلق الأرض { اسْتَوَى } أي: قصد { إِلَى } خلق { السَّمَاءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٌ } قد ثار على وجه الماء، { فَقَالَ لَهَا } ولما كان هذا التخصيص يوهم الاختصاص، عطف عليه بقوله:{ وَلِلْأَرْضِ اِئْتِيَا طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهًا } أي: انقادا لأمري، طائعتين أو مكرهتين، فلا بد من نفوذه. { قَالَتَا أَتَيْنَا طَائِعِينَ } ليس لنا إرادة تخالف إرادتك.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
