Tous deux dirent : "Ô notre Seigneur ! Nous avons fait du tort à nous-mêmes. Et si Tu ne nous pardonnes pas et ne nous fais pas miséricorde, nous serons très certainement du nombre des perdants."

وهنا التمس آدم وحواء من ربهما الصفح والمغفرة ( قَالاَ رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَآ أَنفُسَنَا ) أى : أضررناها بالمعصية والمخالة ( وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا ) ما سلف من ذنوبنا ( وَتَرْحَمْنَا ) بقبول توبتنا ( لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الخاسرين ) أى : لنصيرن من الذين خسروا أنفسهم فى الدنيا والآخرة " .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
