لمن شاء منكم أن يستقيم أي يتبع الحق ويقيم عليه . وقال أبو هريرة وسليمان بن موسى : لما نزلت لمن شاء منكم أن يستقيم قال أبو جهل : الأمر إلينا ، إن شئنا استقمنا ، وإن شئنا لم نستقم - وهذا هو القدر ; وهو رأس القدرية - فنزلت :
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
