Quando vogliamo distruggere una città, ordiniamo [il bene] ai suoi ricchi, ma presto trasgrediscono. Si realizza allora il Decreto e la distruggiamo completamente 1 .

يخبر تعالى أنه إذا أراد أن يهلك قرية من القرى الظالمة ويستأصلها بالعذاب أمر مترفيها أمرا قدريا ففسقوا فيها واشتد طغيانهم، { فَحَقَّ عَلَيْهَا الْقَوْلُ } أي: كلمة العذاب التي لا مرد لها { فَدَمَّرْنَاهَا تَدْمِيرًا }
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
