أَفَحَسِبَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواأي ظن .وقرأ علي وعكرمة ومجاهد وابن محيصن " أفحسب " بإسكان السين وضم الباء ; أي كفاهم .أَنْ يَتَّخِذُوا عِبَادِييعني عيسى والملائكة وعزيرا .مِنْ دُونِي أَوْلِيَاءَولا أعاقبهم ; ففي الكلام حذف .وقال الزجاج : المعنى ; أفحسبوا أن ينفعهم ذلك .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
