E quando si dice loro: «Prosternatevi al Compassionevole» dicono: «E cos’è mai il Compassionevole? Dovremmo prosternarci a chi tu ci comandi?». E la loro ripulsa s’accresce 1.

﴿وَإِذَا قِیلَ لَهُمُ﴾ لِكُفَّارِ مَكَّة ﴿ٱسۡجُدُوا۟ لِلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ قَالُوا۟ وَمَا ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ أَنَسۡجُدُ لِمَا تَأۡمُرُنَا﴾ بِالْفَوْقَانِيَّةِ وَالتَّحْتَانِيَّة وَالْآمِر مُحَمَّد وَلَا نَعْرِفهُ لَا ﴿وَزَادَهُمۡ﴾ هذا القول لهم ﴿نُفُورࣰا﴾ عن الإيمان
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
