Così [avvenne] perché non credettero nonostante i loro messaggeri avessero recato loro prove inequivocabili. Allora Allah li afferrò. In verità Egli è il Forte, il Severo nel castigo.

{ إِنَّهُ قَوِيٌّ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ } فلم تغن قوتهم عند قوة اللّه شيئًا، بل من أعظم الأمم قوة، قوم عاد الذين قالوا:{ مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً } أرسل اللّه إليهم ريحا أضعفت قواهم، ودمرتهم كل تدمير.ثم ذكر نموذجا من أحوال المكذبين بالرسل وهو فرعون وجنوده فقال:
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
