I notabili del suo popolo, che erano miscredenti, dissero: «Se seguite Shu’ayb sarete sicuramente rovinati!».

خبر تعالى عن شدة كفر قوم شعيب وتمردهم وعتوهم ، وما هم فيه من الضلال ، وما جبلت عليه قلوبهم من المخالفة للحق ، ولهذا أقسموا وقالوا ( لئن اتبعتم شعيبا إنكم إذا لخاسرون ) فلهذا عقب ذلك بقوله :
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
