Dat is omdat zij het wereldse leven verkiezen boven het Hiernamaals, en omdat Allah het ongelovige volk niet zal leiden.

يقول تعالى ذكره: حلّ بهؤلاء المشركين غضب الله ، ووجب لهم العذاب العظيم، من أجل أنهم اختاروا زينة الحياة الدنيا على نعيم الآخرة، ولأن الله لا يوفق القوم الذين يجحدون آياته مع إصرارهم على جحودها.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
