En zij hadden jou je bijna doen afwenden van wat Wij aan jou geopenbaard hadden, zodat jij iets anders over Ons verzonnen had; dan hadden zij jou zeker als boezemvriend genomen!

﴿وَإِن﴾ مخففة ﴿كَادُوا۟﴾ قاربوا ﴿لَیَفۡتِنُونَكَ﴾ ليستنزلونك ﴿عَنِ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ لِتَفۡتَرِیَ عَلَیۡنَا غَیۡرَهُۥۖ وَإِذࣰا﴾ لو فعلت ذلك ﴿لَّٱتَّخَذُوكَ خَلِیلࣰا ٧٣﴾
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
