Zo gingen zij verder totdat zij een jongeling ontmoetten en hij hem doodde. Hij (Môesa) zei: "Doodde jij een onschuldige ziel zonder recht? Voorzeker, jij hebt iets vreemds gedaan!"

فقبل الخَضِر عذره، ثم خرجا من السفينة، فبينما هما يمشيان على الساحل إذ أبصرا غلامًا يلعب مع الغلمان، فقتله الخَضِر، فأنكر موسى عليه وقال: كيف قتلت نفسًا طاهرة لم تبلغ حدَّ التكليف، ولم تقتل نفسًا، حتى تستحق القتل بها؟ لقد فَعَلْتَ أمرًا منكرًا عظيمًا.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
