Maar als jullie loochenen: voorzeker, vele gemeenschappen vóór jullie loochenden. En de plicht van de Boodschapper is slechts de duidelijke verkondiging.

﴿وَإِن تُكَذِّبُوا۟﴾ أَيْ تُكَذِّبُونِي يَا أَهْل مَكَّة ﴿فَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ أُمَمࣱ مِّن قَبۡلِكُمۡۖ﴾ مِنْ قَبْلِي ﴿وَمَا عَلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ إِلَّا ٱلۡبَلَـٰغُ ٱلۡمُبِینُ ١٨﴾ إلَّا الْبَلَاغ الْبَيِّن فِي هَاتَيْنِ الْقِصَّتَيْنِ تَسْلِيَة لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وقال تعالى في قومه
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
