En degenen vóór hen loochenden terwijl zij (de ongelovigen) nog geen tiende hadden bereikt van wat Wij hun (de nlachtige volkeren) hadden gegeven. En zij loochenden Mijn Boodschappers. En hoe (verschrikkelijk) was toen Mijn afschuw!

وكذَّب الذين من قبلهم كعاد وثمود رسلنا، وما بلغ أهل «مكة» عُشرَ ما آتينا الأمم السابقة من القوة، وكثرة المال، وطول العمر وغير ذلك من النعم، فكذبوا رسلي فيما جاؤوهم به فأهلكناهم، فانظر -أيها الرسول- كيف كان إنكاري عليهم وعقوبتي إياهم؟
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
