En als zij jou loochenen; zij loochenden ook degenen vóór hen: hun Boodschappers kwamen tot hen met duidelijke bewijzen, met de Schriften en met het verlichtende Boek.

وإن يكذبك هؤلاء المشركون فقد كذَّب الذين مِن قبلهم رسلهم الذين جاؤوهم بالمعجزات الواضحات الدالة على نبوتهم، وجاؤوهم بالكتب المجموع فيها كثير من الأحكام، وبالكتاب المنير الموضح لطريق الخير والشر.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
