Dat is omdat zij zeggen: "De Hel zal ons niet aanraken, behalve een vastgesteld aantal dagen." Want zij werden in hun godsdienst bedrogen door wat zij plachten te verzinnen.

قوله تعالى : ذلك بأنهم قالوا لن تمسنا النار إلا أياما معدودات وغرهم في دينهم ما كانوا يفترون إشارة إلى التولي والإعراض ، واغترار منهم في قولهم : نحن أبناء الله وأحباؤه إلى غير ذلك من أقوالهم وقد مضى الكلام في معنى قولهم : لن تمسنا النار في البقرة .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
