Moge Allah jou (Moehammad) vergeven, waarom heb jij vrijstelling gegeven (om achter te blijven), nog vóórdat jou was gebleken wie degenen waren die waarachtig waren en vóór jij wist wie de leugenaars waren?

عفا الله عنك -أيها النبي- عمَّا وقع منك مِن تَرْك الأولى والأكمل، وهو إذنك للمنافقين في القعود عن الجهاد، لأي سبب أَذِنْتَ لهؤلاء بالتخلف عن الغزوة، حتى يظهر لك الذين صدقوا في اعتذارهم وتعلم الكاذبين منهم في ذلك؟
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
