Responderão: Glorificado sejas! Não nos era dado adotar outros protetores em vez de Ti! Porém, agraciaste-os (combens terrenos), bem como seus pais, até que se esqueceram da Mensagem e foram desventurados.

قال المعبودون من دون الله: تنزيهًا لك -يا ربنا- عَمَّا فعل هؤلاء، فما يصحُّ أن نَتَّخِذ سواك أولياء نواليهم، ولكن متعتَ هؤلاء المشركين وآباءهم بالمال والعافية في الدنيا، حتى نسوا ذكرك فأشركوا بك، وكانوا قومًا هلكى غلب عليهم الشقاء والخِذْلان.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
