Disseram: Sede judeus ou cristãos, que estareis bem iluminados. Responde-lhes: Qual! Seguimos o credo de Abraão, omonoteísta, que jamais se contou entre os idólatras.

أي: دعا كل من اليهود والنصارى المسلمين إلى الدخول في دينهم, زاعمين أنهم هم المهتدون وغيرهم ضال. قل له مجيبا جوابا شافيا:{ بَلْ } نتبع { مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا } أي: مقبلا على الله, معرضا عما سواه, قائما بالتوحيد, تاركا للشرك والتنديد. فهذا الذي في اتباعه الهداية, وفي الإعراض عن ملته الكفر والغواية.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
