Pois quando os mensageiros, de todas as partes, se apresentaram a eles, (dizendo-lhes): Não adoreis senão a Deus!, responderam-lhes: Se Deus quisesse isso, teria enviado anjos (para predicá-lo). Certamente negaremos a vossa missão.

﴿إِذۡ جَاۤءَتۡهُمُ ٱلرُّسُلُ مِنۢ بَیۡنِ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ﴾ أي مقبلين عليهم ومدبرين عنهم فكفروا كما سيأتي والإهلاك في زمنه فقط ﴿أَ﴾ن أَيْ بِأَنْ ﴿لَّا تَعۡبُدُوۤا۟ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَۖ قَالُوا۟ لَوۡ شَاۤءَ رَبُّنَا لَأَنزَلَ﴾ علينا ﴿مَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةࣰ فَإِنَّا بِمَاۤ أُرۡسِلۡتُم بِهِۦ﴾ على زعمكم ﴿كَـٰفِرُونَ ١٤﴾
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
