Que escuta os versículos de Deus, quando lhe são recitados, e se obstina, ensoberbecido, como se não os tivesse ouvido! Anuncia-lhe um doloroso castigo.

( يسمع آيات الله تتلى عليه ) أي : تقرأ عليه ( ثم يصر ) أي : على كفره وجحوده استكبارا وعنادا ( كأن لم يسمعها ) أي : كأنه ما سمعها ، ( فبشره بعذاب أليم )[ أي ] فأخبره أن له عند الله يوم القيامة عذابا أليما موجعا .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
