Dize: Se o castigo de Deus vos açoitasse, ou vos surpreendesse a Hora, invocaríeis outra divindade que não fosse Deus? Dizei-o, se estiverdes certos!

يقول تعالى لرسوله:{ قُلْ } للمشركين بالله، العادلين به غيره:{ أَرَأَيْتَكُمْ إِنْ أَتَاكُمْ عَذَابُ اللَّهِ أَوْ أَتَتْكُمُ السَّاعَةُ أَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ تَدْعُونَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ } أي: إذا حصلت هذه المشقات، وهذه الكروب، التي يضطر إلى دفعها، هل تدعون آلهتكم وأصنامكم، أم تدعون ربكم الملك الحق المبين.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
