Pedir-te-ão isenção só aqueles que não crêem em Deus, nem no Dia do Juízo Final, cujos corações estão em dúvida e, em sua dúvida, vacilam.

{إِنَّمَا يَسْتَأْذِنُكَ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَارْتَابَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ} أي: ليس لهم إيمان تام، ولا يقين صادق، فلذلك قلَّتْ رغبتهم في الخير، وجبنوا عن القتال، واحتاجوا أن يستأذنوا في ترك القتال. {فَهُمْ فِي رَيْبِهِمْ يَتَرَدَّدُونَ} أي: لا يزالون في الشك والحيرة
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
